Chalk one up to the Met Office ! The forecast for Thursday at 09.00 for Guilden Morden was for torrential rain, which dutifully materialised. However the rain map predicted a steady decline in precipitation and so a shorter route starting at 11.00 was proposed. Three Windmillers (four, including Rick riding to the pub for lunch) put their faith in the forecast and were fully rewarded with a largely dry 35km ride. Meanwhile, many more put their faith only in a community owned freehouse pub lunch but not the Met office and were also well rewarded.
The ride itself was a figure of 8 around Ashwell with a cake stop at Batch 52 in Baldock.
The riders were Nigel, who also bought birthday beers but somehow missed the embarrassment of the Windmillers singing Happy Birthday, Rod and Graham.
